Gilmer Texas Wedding Photographer | Kesha & James Tie the Knot

June 01, 2014  •  Leave a Comment
I met Kesha back in January when she asked me to shoot her wedding.  We met on facebook in a mommy group and hit it off and then, decided that me shooting her wedding absolutely had to happen.

Since then, we've become great friends and I love that I got to spend such a special day with her and her family!

Here's a little sneak into her wedding!

1. What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

"My favorite part of my wedding day was seeing my fiance before I walked down the isle.  Seeing him before I took that walk down the isle and how happy he was made it all the more wonderful."

2. What was the most challenging part of wedding planning?

"The most challenging part of planning my wedding were several things honestly. We had three people back out of doing the music for our wedding. Thankfully at the last minute Beth happily accepted the jobs of making the cupcakes and DJing."

3. Describe your wedding style and why you chose it.

"My wedding style was a country chic DIY.  I chose this to save money and because I love crafts.  I think it makes it more rewarding for myself knowing that I put it all together and it came out almost how I pictured it in my head."

Angela is a mommy by day and a photographer all the rest of the time.  She also considers herself a lens snob.  She is located in East Texas and is available for travel world-wide.

Longview Photographer | What your wedding photographer won't tell you

May 31, 2014  •  Leave a Comment

Shooting a wedding is hard.

I mean - your feet hurt for the rest of the week, your back literally screams and every time you switch out that memory card - even though you have a VERY specific system - you are terrified that something went wrong and you've lost all the pictures forever by some freak something happening like a magnetic storm or what have you.

But I'm not going to tell you that.

I won't tell you that every single time I get in the car after shooting for 8-10 hours I think "I did not get paid enough..."

What I WILL tell you is how much I love it.  How much every shot, every pose and every moment I capture in my lens is 100% work every penny earned.  The knowledge that you will look at those photos for the rest of your life because that was it - that was the one day and the only photos you have of your only wedding day - fills me with such pride.

I love every moment of every wedding.  My heart literally races when I pull up at a venue.  Part is nerves and the other is pure adrenalin laced anticipation of the smiles and tears.

I love being the ONLY one around when you and your now husband take your photos together.  I love sticking on a long lens and just backing away a bit to give you your space.  I love hearing the things he whispers to you - even if I can't make out the words, I know they are words that remind you why you are here in the first place.

Angela is a blogger, photographer, starbucks addict, and self-proclaimed lover of all things wedding.  She's lives in East Texas with her collection of cameras, her two cats, and, oh, her family, too.

More thoughts and musings from a wedding photographer to come!

I just can't wait to meet baby deuce!  I am so excited!

I've been going back and reading all of Rachel's blog posts (the barbie chronicals) and I just love her!  She's going to be such a fabulous mom!

And I had no idea she had blogged these great images from her maternity session!
